Our Review: Maui Seasons

Availability note (July 2026): Maui Seasons appears to have stopped taking online bookings — none of its 23 listed tours shows an open date on the booking calendar, and the listings direct travelers to call (808) 435-6366. The review below stands on the merits of the tours themselves, but call and confirm before you build a day around any of them.

Maui Seasons is the largest land-based tour operator in our Maui rankings, running 23 tours out of Lahaina with an average quality score of 70.9/100. The catalog is wide: Road to Hana variants, upcountry Maui excursions, Iao Valley farm tours, distillery visits, airport transfers, and hourly chauffeur service. That breadth comes with trade-offs.

The top of the catalog is genuinely good. The Private Iao Valley/Upcountry Farm VIP Tour leads at 85/100 and hits a part of Maui that most tourists skip entirely. Iao Valley is one of the most historically significant sites on the island, and the upcountry farm stops give you a feel for agricultural Maui that the resort areas never show. The Private Road to Hana VIP Tour (81/100) and Private Upcountry Maui VIP Sunset Tour (80/100) are both solid private experiences with knowledgeable guides.

The group Road to Hana and Halfway to Hana tours (76-79) are serviceable but not exceptional. For the Hana drive specifically, dedicated operators like Hana Tours of Maui or Polynesian Adventure Activities score higher. Where Maui Seasons earns its keep is in the private and VIP tier, where the personalized attention and off-the-beaten-path routing give you something the big bus companies can't.

The lower-scoring items are airport transfers, chauffeur services, and land-and-sea combo tours in the 55-68 range. These are logistics services more than experiences, and they pull the average down. Judge this operator by their VIP private tours, not by their shuttle service.

Who This Operator Is Best For

Travelers who want private, VIP-level tours of Maui's interior, including upcountry farms, Iao Valley, and distilleries. Maui Seasons is also useful if you need airport transfers and want to book through a single operator. For Road to Hana specifically, consider the dedicated Hana specialists first.

Available Tours & Activities

Heads up: As of July 2026, Maui Seasons shows no online booking availability across any of its tours — the booking calendar returns no open dates in any month we checked, and the listings direct travelers to call (808) 435-6366 instead. Confirm the operator is running before you plan a day around one of these tours.
