There is no separate walk-in admission charge. Parking costs $7 per vehicle for non-residents (Hawaii residents park free with a valid state ID). There are plenty of grassy picnic areas available as well as restroom facilities. Do not leave valuables in your car.
Directions: From Waikiki take Kalakaua Avenue out of Waikiki toward the mountains. Turn right onto King Street. At the first light turn left onto Punahou. Continue on Punahou and turn left onto Nehoa. Turn right onto Makiki Hights Drive. The road will deadend. Turn right onto Tantalus Drive (Round the Top). Turn right in the Puu Ualakaa Park.
