Umauma Falls

Located within the North Hamakua Region on Big Island

Umauma Falls is a triple-tier waterfall visited through the Umauma Experience. Choose between the self-guided falls-and-garden visit and a booked activity such as the zipline tour.

For the self-guided visit, stop at the visitor center to register and pick up a garden map. The operator says no advance reservation is needed and describes drive-up access to the falls viewing area. Check the current admission total and last-entry time before arriving.

The nine-line zipline course includes four dual lines and a suspension bridge. Read the selected tour’s age, weight, health and mobility requirements before booking. Do not assume a falls-viewing ticket includes ziplining, swimming or kayaking.

The operator’s directions page and falls-and-gardens page list different opening days. Confirm your visit date and hours directly with the operator before traveling.

Bring sun protection and insect repellent for the garden visit. Follow staff directions and remain in visitor areas.

Use the operator’s current directions to its visitor center, then check in before continuing to the falls and garden. Confirm the route and entry arrangements directly if you need assistance with access.
