Oahu SNUBA Listings Need Confirmation
As of Aug. 1, 2026, HawaiiGuide could not confirm a regularly advertised Oahu SNUBA program on an operator's own website. Third-party marketplace listings still display a Ko Olina Ocean Adventures catamaran package with SNUBA equipment as a selectable option, but the operator's website leads with sailing and snorkeling and does not mention SNUBA.
Treat that marketplace option as unconfirmed until the operator verifies it for your date. If breathing underwater is the point of the day, do not pay based only on a third-party inclusion list or hope to add SNUBA at the marina.
What SNUBA Is
SNUBA uses a regulator connected by an air hose to a supply that floats at the surface. You do not wear a scuba tank or need a scuba certification. The official SNUBA overview says the hose allows guests to stay anywhere from the surface to 20 feet deep, with a trained guide accompanying the tour.
That makes SNUBA more immersive than snorkeling but more limited than scuba. It is still a guided compressed-air activity underwater, not a casual snorkel add-on you can improvise after boarding.
SNUBA or Another Oahu Ocean Activity?
You want to breathe underwater, stay close to a guide, and avoid taking a scuba-certification course during the trip.
You are comfortable at the surface and want the broadest choice of boats, departure areas, and reef trips.
You want an air-filled helmet and scooter experience. It is a separate product and should not be labeled or booked as SNUBA.
You want a first scuba experience with a tank and instructor, or you may continue toward certification later.
How to Book an Oahu SNUBA Tour
- Set the date first. Open the Ko Olina catamaran listing and select your actual travel date and party size.
- Read the package inclusions. Look for SNUBA equipment in the selected option. A generic snorkel-and-sail package is not the same purchase.
- Check with the operator. Confirm SNUBA availability, check-in instructions, cancellation terms, and transportation before paying.
- Resolve eligibility questions before paying. Ask the operator about age, swimming comfort, mobility, medical screening, and any other participant restriction that applies to your group.

Who Should Skip It
Skip SNUBA if the booking page does not explicitly offer it for your date. Also choose another activity if anyone in the group is uncomfortable using a regulator, cannot satisfy the operator's screening requirements, or wants a guaranteed wildlife encounter. Fish and turtles are wild; the equipment does not turn a reef visit into a scheduled animal show.

Travelers who want an instructor-led first scuba experience should compare current introductory-scuba options rather than treating marketplace labels such as "intro dive" as another name for SNUBA.
