What to Know Before You Go
- Closed-toe shoes are required. Sneakers or trail shoes are the safe pick. Flip-flops and open sandals will not work for zipline platforms, ladders, and trail sections.
- Weight and age limits are enforced. Each operator sets its own range, and participants can be weighed at check-in. Confirm directly before booking if anyone in your group is near a listed limit.
- North Shore and Upcountry weather changes fast. Rain policies vary by operator and by conditions on the day, so check your specific operator's FAQ before driving out. Wet platforms and muddy paths are normal in Haiku. Wear quick-dry clothing.
- Do not schedule a zipline immediately before a flight. Leave room for traffic, check-in delays, and weather adjustments, especially if the course is in West Maui or Haiku.
- Check your operator's camera policy. Rules on handheld phones and cameras vary. A chest-mounted or strapped action camera is generally safer (and more likely to be allowed) than a phone in your pocket or a loose wrist strap.
- Skip it if you have recent back, neck, heart, or pregnancy restrictions. Harness braking and platform landings are not gentle enough to ignore medical guidance.
