The organizer's November 1 update carries the Wailuku Gives poster for Friday, November 6, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. It advertises a free family event in Wailuku Town, with the street closed from 5:30 p.m. Market and High Streets and the Wailuku Garage feature shops and vendors; the program includes Nevah Too Late, Get Up & Dance Maui and DJ Z.

Free event admission does not establish free parking. Check the organizer's directions and parking information and follow the posted payment and traffic instructions when you arrive. Its general garage guidance calls for a credit card and describes event traffic arrangements; do not assume a parking space or a particular price will be available.

Choose this evening if you want Central Maui street music and shopping on a known date. Arrange dinner and your route back before the program. The Downtown Art Center's events page lists a monthly First Friday from 5 to 8 pm, free and open to the public in its galleries. For November specifically, the center's homepage lists the Artists of Hawaii Biennial 2026, running November 6 through December 19, 2026, with an opening reception on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 5 to 8 pm at 1041 Nuuanu Avenue. Exhibitions are free.

The center's visit page still labels its gallery hours as 2025 and gives a general First Friday window of 5:30 to 8 pm, which starts later than the dated November reception. For the November 6, 2026 reception, use the 5 to 8 pm listing. For any later month, confirm the specific event listing rather than relying on the general visit page.

Do not assume one timing covers every venue in Chinatown. If galleries are your priority, aim for the reception hours; a late dinner reservation does not mean the exhibitions will still be open. The Hanapepe Art Night page describes a weekly art market on Fridays from 5 to 8 pm, with art, music, and vendors in town. The organizer's vendor terms say the market generally runs 52 Fridays a year, except when a major holiday such as Christmas falls on a Friday. The 8 to 9 pm period is vendor breakdown, not additional public shopping time, so arriving late does not extend the evening.

Weekly flexibility is the appeal, but it does not justify ignoring the holiday exceptions. If your trip includes Christmas week or New Year's, ask the organizer directly for the exact dates rather than assuming. Check individual businesses separately if a particular meal or gallery is the reason for going.
