Choose a Hawaii parasailing tour by island, travel dates, and who is coming with you. Our recommendation is to settle those three questions before comparing advertised line lengths. A longer line is little help if the departure point does not fit your day or someone in your group cannot participate.

Start with the current Hawaiian Parasail and X-Treme Parasail offerings on Oʻahu, or UFO's Maui and Kona trips. Kona is a real option on the Big Island. Maui requires a separate seasonal check.

Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes §200-38(c) prohibits parasailing from December 15 through May 15 in the waters of west and south Maui from Puʻu Olaʻi to Hawea Point. This is a state restriction with a defined coastal scope. Do not treat a booking site's visible tour listing as proof that flights operate during that period.

UFO's current FAQ lists its Maui parasailing season as May 16 through December 14. Its Maui activity page places departures at Kāʻanapali Beach in front of Whalers Village. Use your booking confirmation for the exact meeting instructions, and confirm the operating date before arranging the rest of the day.

Our planning choice: if your Maui dates fall inside the restricted season, leave parasailing out of that island's itinerary. If your trip already includes another island, check that operator's calendar separately. Keep current access and disruption checks with Hawaii Travel Alerts.

Hawaiian Parasail lists check-in at 1651 Ala Moana Boulevard, Slip 600B, with arrival 30 minutes before the tour. The operator currently says transportation is unavailable. Arrange your own trip to the meeting point.

X-Treme Parasail departs from Kewalo Basin Harbor, 1025 Ala Moana Boulevard, Slip F-1. It also requests check-in 30 minutes early. Its location page provides the current booth and parking instructions. These two companies have different meeting points; use the address attached to the reservation you actually buy.

UFO Parasail offers Kona flights, and its FAQ lists Kona parasailing year-round. The Kona activity page directs guests to its office inside the lobby of the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. Confirm availability and meeting instructions for your date.

If you are already staying on the Kona side, compare that option before adding another island just for parasailing. For a Kauaʻi-only trip, do not build the itinerary around an assumed parasail departure: find a current operator and dated availability first. Use the restrictions for your exact operator and package. Hawaiian Parasail, X-Treme, and UFO currently list a minimum flying age of five. Confirm the adult-supervision and waiver arrangements for your party before booking.

Weight limits apply to the flight pairing. UFO lists a 160-pound minimum for a solo flight and an approximately 450–550-pound maximum combined weight for tandem or triple flights, subject to wind, sea conditions, and the captain's decision. UFO also says it does not pair guests from different booking parties to meet the minimum. These figures describe UFO's published policy. Ask your chosen operator to confirm the intended pairing and harness fit.

Being an observer does not remove every restriction. UFO prohibits pregnant guests from both flying and riding along, and does not allow children under five aboard. Hawaiian Parasail's restrictions exclude expectant mothers, recent injuries or surgeries, and certain serious medical conditions; it also lists mobility requirements. If a health or mobility issue affects your party, review the full policy with the operator before paying and seek medical advice when appropriate. Do not assume another boat activity is a suitable substitute.

Ask how boarding works. Describe any assistance you need and confirm whether the crew can accommodate it. Ask about the life jacket, briefing, crew signals, and what happens if conditions change. Use the crew's actual instructions instead of arriving with a hand-signal system from a travel article.

Read the unit attached to an advertised height. Hawaiian Parasail's menu labels its 800- and 1,000-foot options as line length, with approximately 5–6 and 6–8 minutes of flight respectively. UFO's Kona menu lists 800 and 1,200 feet of line with approximately six and nine minutes of airtime. Do not read a tow-line measurement as a promised altitude.

The boat outing includes time beyond your own flight. X-Treme asks guests to allow roughly 1.5 hours from check-in until returning to its booth. Add your travel and parking time separately; we recommend keeping the next reservation flexible.

Compare the final checkout total for the same party and date. Check taxes, required fees, any charges due at check-in, observer tickets, and optional photos. Read guest-cancellation terms separately from operator weather cancellations. UFO's weather policy, for example, offers rescheduling or a refund if the operator cancels and you cannot reschedule. Keep a copy of the terms attached to your booking.

Our recommendation is to book early enough in your stay to leave room for a weather reschedule, if the outing matters to you. UFO describes dry deck takeoff and landing with a life vest, and an optional water dip subject to conditions. Discuss a dry-flight preference with the crew, and ask about water contact and emergency procedures.

Pack clothing you can get damp, sun protection, and only the items the operator allows. Ask how phones, cameras, and sunglasses must be secured. UFO requires a secure wrist strap for a camera or GoPro taken on the flight. Leave valuables ashore if you would not accept losing or damaging them.

Before leaving your accommodation, confirm the tour is running, the meeting address is correct, and everyone understands the restrictions. If any of those checks fails, resolve it before traveling to the boat.
