Six adults and five bags can clear the seat count on a seven-seat rental class and exceed its listed bag count. Read both numbers before choosing the vehicle for your Hawaii trip. Then check the actual bags with the pickup location: the arithmetic is a starting point, not a packing test.
Same seats, different bag counts
Enterprise’s United States class pages list the figures below. These are national class guides, not proof of Hawaii airport availability. Each names an example vehicle “or similar”; the displayed bag counts do not specify bag dimensions.
| Vehicle plan | People listed | Bags listed |
|---|---|---|
| One full-size SUV | 7 | 3 |
| One 7-passenger minivan | 7 | 5 |
| Two midsize cars | 5 per car | 3 per car |
For this hypothetical group, the SUV’s listed seats exceed the headcount, but its bag count is two short. The minivan’s listed counts cover six people and five bags on paper. That still does not establish that your five bags fit with six seats occupied.
For two midsize cars, try three adults and three bags in one, three adults and two bags in the other. Each allocation stays within that car’s published counts. It passes a numerical screen, not a physical fit test. No row proves the best choice.
Count the full load for the airport-to-lodging trip.
Turn counts into a loading plan
The example assumes six adults and five pieces of luggage, with no child seats, strollers, mobility aids or sports gear. It assigns no dimensions to those five bags. Three advertised bags must not be read as three large checked suitcases.
- List the real load. Write one line per traveler with bag dimensions, including carry-ons and any additional equipment. Use the airport arrival planner to think through the loaded transfer, not just sightseeing after bags reach your room.
- Keep occupied seats in the plan. Ask the pickup location where your listed items go with every needed seat in use. Do not solve the paper exercise by folding away a seat someone needs. Ask which vehicles may be supplied within the reserved class.
- Check the second-car dependencies. Identify two drivers who meet their rental terms, ask lodging about parking both vehicles, and recheck vehicle-based admission bookings with our group reservation worksheet.

Price the workable arrangements
Once a plan clears the capacity questions, compare complete quotes for your location and dates. You can check Discount Hawaii Car Rental alongside suppliers. Our rental cost calculator helps with planning estimates; it is not a live booking quote or a luggage checker. The holiday rental guide explains class selection and booking terms.
Before committing, send the pickup location a specific question: six adults, these five measured bags, all needed seats occupied—where does everything go? Use the answer and the complete quotes to decide which arrangement to book.
