This Hawaiʻi Summer Festival Calendar tracks confirmed cultural events, parades, food gatherings, and public celebrations from May through July 2026. The islands do not run on a single festival circuit. Each community has its own rhythm, so a fixed date, a location, and a parking plan matter more than a vague summer-event promise.

“May Day Is Lei Day in Hawaiʻi” grew from the first Lei Day Celebration on May 1, 1927. The City and County of Honolulu program at Kapiʻolani Park includes a Lei Contest, lei-making workshops, island music, hula, artisans, merchants, and food. The City parks department manages the park venue.

The contest is the heart of the day. Slow down at the entries and look at the construction work: flowers, foliage, scent, color, and the patient handwork that turns loose plant material into a finished lei.

The Pearl Harbor National Memorial is a serious Memorial Day stop, not a quick photo break. Give yourself time for security screening, parking, and the memorial grounds.

The beach park gets crowded well before the ceremony. Check the organizer’s page for current attendance guidance, lantern requests, and livestream details. A blanket is more useful than a folding chair on the sand.

Hawaiʻi Kuauli brings cultural performances, fashion, food, marketplace programming, ʻŌlelo Kāmau, hula, and fireknife competition to Kailua-Kona. Programming moves between outdoor spaces and resort venues, including the Lūʻau Grounds, Formal Gardens, Herb Kane Foyer, and Kamakahonu Ballroom. Honolulu’s 2026 program begins Thursday, June 11, with a 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. tribute at the Kamehameha I statue at Aliʻiōlani Hale. The statue lei-draping ceremony follows Friday, June 12, from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday’s 109th King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade runs from ʻIolani Palace to Kapiʻolani Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pāʻū riders, floral floats, marching bands, and hula groups turn the route into a moving wall of color. The Pan-Pacific Festival brings Japanese and Pacific cultural groups to Waikīkī for hula, music, food, and parade programming. On Friday, June 12, the Pan-Pacific Hoʻolauleʻa runs from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Kalākaua Avenue between Seaside Avenue and Uluniu Avenue.

Saturday programming includes performances at Ala Moana Center and International Market Place. On Sunday, June 14, the Pan-Pacific Parade runs from Fort DeRussy Park to Kapiʻolani Park along Kalākaua Avenue from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Street closures will reshape traffic through Waikīkī, so walk if you are already staying nearby.

The 45th annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival pairs wine tastings, chef events, and dinners with the resort’s West Maui setting. This is a paid program rather than a walk-up street festival. Events vary sharply by island in 2026. On Oʻahu, an America 250 offshore fireworks program is scheduled near Waikīkī and Kapiʻolani Park on July 4. Check the Honolulu Police Department traffic advisory before driving through Waikīkī.

A Wailea Beach fireworks display is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. on Maui. This event is separate from Ukulele Festival Hawaii. In 2022, Roy Sakuma announced that the festival’s 52-year legacy event would end, and it did not return in person in 2022 or 2023. The International ʻUkulele Festival of Hawaiʻi brings its public program to Kapiʻolani Park, where shade and water matter as much as a good spot near the stage. (history of the original festival)

For 2026, the Prince Lot Hula Festival takes place at Royal Hawaiian Center. It honors Prince Lot Kapuāiwa, later King Kamehameha V, and his work to protect hula, chant, and Native Hawaiian practices during a period of suppression. Kōloa Plantation Days is a 10-day festival marking the sugar-plantation history of Kōloa, site of Hawaiʻi’s first successful commercial sugar plantation in 1835. The calendar includes music, cultural programming, food, crafts, vendors, and the annual parade.

The parade begins at Kōloa School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, and ends at Anne Knudsen Ballpark. The Annual Park Celebration runs at the ballpark from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., overlapping with the parade’s arrival. Admission is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Buddhist temples across Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi, Maui, Lānaʻi, and Molokaʻi hold Bon and Obon observances through the summer. Obon has Japanese Buddhist roots, and each temple runs its own program. Admission, food sales, parking, and dance schedules vary. Use the temple-by-temple schedule before making a drive for a specific Bon Dance.

If a festival is the reason for your trip, book a room once you find a location, price, and cancellation policy you can live with. A Waikīkī event is easier from Waikīkī. Kōloa Plantation Days is easier from the South Shore. Do not build a festival day around a long cross-island drive.

Lei Day, Pan-Pacific Festival, Prince Lot Hula Festival, and the International ʻUkulele Festival have free public programming. Kapalua Wine & Food Festival is ticketed, and some Kōloa Plantation Days events charge admission. Food, merchandise, and parking can still add up fast at free events.

Most festival time happens outdoors, so bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and shoes that can handle grass, pavement, or sand.
