We would choose the event that fits where you are staying and who is traveling with you. A comedy show can fill one evening. The family workshop is a short Upcountry outing. The camp requires four full days. The event dates, times, ages, and admission details below come from current organizer listings. The Maui Arts & Cultural Center ticket calendar lists Jo Koy's Koy Meets World Tour at the Castle Theater on Tuesday, December 1, and Wednesday, December 2. Both performances are scheduled for 7 p.m.

This is the easiest event here to add to a Central Maui stay. From West or South Maui, leave enough margin for the drive and ticket pickup or entry. Buy only through the MACC box office or the ticket link it provides.

Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center lists Hui Holidays First Night for Thursday, December 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kaluanui Estate in Makawao. The evening adds food, drinks, and one-night vendors to the center's expanded holiday marketplace.

This is a ticketed event, but the Hui says ticket details are still to come. Save the date; do not treat admission as secured until the organizer opens sales.

If December 3 does not work, the broader Hui Holidays marketplace runs November 20 through December 24, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. That is the flexible Upcountry option.

The Hui Holidays Santa Workshop is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hui Noʻeau. Santa's listed visit is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and the organizer requests a $5-per-car suggested donation.

That evening, the MACC calendar lists comedian Jiaoying Summers at 7:30 p.m. in the McCoy Studio Theater. You can choose either event, or do both if you are comfortable with the drive between Makawao and Kahului and a tightly planned day.

The MACC's current ticket calendar schedules John Mulaney at the Castle Theater on Friday, December 18, at 6:30 p.m. Use the venue's own listing for ticket availability and entry details.

A fixed 6:30 p.m. start makes this an evening anchor, not something to squeeze behind a long Road to Hāna or Haleakalā day. Keep the afternoon loose and eat before the show or after confirming the venue's current food options.

Maui Ocean Center lists Camp Kainani for Monday, December 28, through Thursday, December 31. The four-day marine-science program runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is designed for children ages 8–10.

This is not a casual aquarium stop. It is a multi-day commitment that requires advance registration. It works for a family staying within a manageable drive of Māʻalaea and wanting a structured program across the final week of the year. Check availability before arranging the rest of those days.

For our planning, Kahului keeps MACC nights simple. Build Makawao into an Upcountry day. For Māʻalaea, check the route from your hotel and leave room for traffic, especially if you are staying farther away.
