Hawaii Weather in June
June sees the least rain of any month in Hawaii. The passing windward showers that pop up the rest of the year mostly take June off, which changes where you can comfortably stay — the normally wetter sides of the islands (Hilo, Hāna, Princeville) are far less of a gamble this month than in winter.
Daytime highs hold in the low-to-mid 80s and nights stay in the low 70s, so an after-dinner beach walk doesn't need a sweater. The ocean follows the summer pattern: south shores pick up their summer swell while north shores — wild and unswimmable all winter — turn calm enough for snorkeling.
The one packing exception is elevation. The summits of Haleakalā and Mauna Kea run dramatically colder than the coast, so if a sunrise trip or stargazing is on your list, pack a real jacket. Everywhere else, June weather is about as close to a sure thing as Hawaii offers.

Hawaii Crowds in June
June is really two different months. Through roughly the 20th, the islands still feel like late spring — beaches are manageable, dinner reservations are gettable. Then schools finish, families arrive in force, and the last week of June runs at full summer pace heading into the Fourth of July. The anchor event is King Kamehameha Day on June 11 — a state holiday, and the only U.S. state holiday honoring a monarch. Kamehameha I united the Hawaiian Islands in 1810, and the signature moment of his holiday is the lei draping ceremony at the King Kamehameha statue fronting Aliʻiolani Hale in downtown Honolulu, where long strands of lei are hung from the statue's outstretched arms.
