Hawaii holiday craft fairs give you a better shot at island-made gifts than an airport shop. If your trip lands between early November and mid-December, you can work a made-in-Hawaiʻi shopping weekend into the plan without rebuilding the rest of your trip. Five useful 2026 market anchors now have confirmed dates.

The gifts that carry a real sense of place come from someone making things on the islands: lilikoʻi butter, a koa bottle opener, coffee from a farm you can name. Thanksgiving weekend creates a choice in Honolulu: the large Islandwide Expo or the smaller free Hawaiian Mission Houses craft fair. Pick one unless shopping is the purpose of the day.

Honolulu has four confirmed markets across three weekends on the 2026 calendar. The November 6–8 event is near Waikīkī. Two choices overlap on Thanksgiving weekend, and the final market fills the Blaisdell in mid-December.

Nā Lehua Marketplace & Festival debuts November 6–8 in the Hawaiʻi Convention Center's ground-floor Kamehameha Exhibit Halls. The Center's announcement confirms hundreds of local vendors, live entertainment, and island-inspired products. It does not yet list admission prices or day-by-day hours. Use the dates and venue for trip planning, then wait for ticket details before choosing a specific day.

Transportation needs attention. The Convention Center's current parking notice says the garage is closed during renovation work, with limited weekend stalls possible only case by case, and directs visitors toward offsite parking and alternative transportation. If you are staying in Waikīkī or near Ala Moana, walk, take TheBus, use a rideshare, or confirm an offsite garage before you go.

The Islandwide Crafts & Food Expo runs November 27–29, 2026, from Friday through Sunday after Thanksgiving. If you are already on Oahu for the holiday, it offers a large indoor local-shopping alternative to Black Friday retail lines. Hours and admission details are not posted yet, so check the day-by-day schedule before leaving your hotel.

Saturday, November 28 creates a real choice. The 55th Annual Holiday Craft Fair at Hawaiian Mission Houses runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free fair admission. Choose this smaller downtown fair if meeting makers in a historic-site setting matters more than maximum inventory. Choose Islandwide for the larger indoor market. I would not attempt both unless shopping is the day's main event.

Two weeks later, the Mele Kalikimaka Marketplace fills the Blaisdell on December 12–13, 2026. The organizer lists nearly 300 booths of Hawaiʻi-made goods, including art, food, apparel, and crafts. This is its 11th year. The current official schedule lists Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If your December trip has one dedicated shopping day, I would put it here. It is a strong one-stop option for made-in-Hawaiʻi gifts, and it lands close enough to Christmas to finish a gift list.

Maui's flagship shopping event is the Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival, confirmed for November 6–7, 2026 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. It gathers Maui County-made products in one venue early in the holiday season.

It is a coffee festival first, but its 2026 schedule includes a Made in Hawaiʻi Artisan Market on November 6 and the Holualoa Coffee and Art Stroll on November 7. No 2026 Hilo-area holiday fair is listed here. Check local community calendars once you arrive if you want to find a smaller event. The Hilo Farmers Market is a year-round fallback if your dates miss the seasonal fairs.

Read the label before buying coffee. Under Hawaii's current labeling rule, a product labeled “Kona blend” may contain as little as 10% Kona coffee by weight. The minimum is scheduled to rise to 51% on July 1, 2027. (Hawaiʻi Department of Agriculture coffee-labeling guidance) If you want Kona coffee rather than a blend, buy a bag marked 100% Kona. If you run out after getting home, Hawaii Coffee Company sells 100% Kona coffee and ships domestically. Check the bag there, too.

No large 2026 Kauaʻi holiday market is listed here, so check local calendars closer to your travel dates. Look for Kauaʻi Made events, museum and community fairs, and school fundraisers. The county calendar and local listings are useful starting points.

If your timing misses the fairs, use year-round local shopping instead. Coconut Marketplace in Kapaʻa and Hanalei Center on the North Shore are reliable stops. Kauaʻi's weekly farmers markets can be another place to look for food gifts.

This catches people at 5 a.m. on departure day. USDA APHIS requires travelers to present food, plants, and other agricultural items for inspection before leaving Hawaii for the U.S. mainland. (USDA APHIS Hawaii travel rules) An item being sold at a fair does not automatically mean it can travel in your bag. Carry a little cash and confirm payment options with the vendor. Go early on the first day if selection matters to you. Leave room in your bag, or ask before buying whether the vendor ships to the mainland. Do not assume shipping is available.

Treat one fair as a half-day, not a full one. I would budget two or three hours for a large Blaisdell market. Keep the rest of the day for Hawaii. Go in the morning, then drop purchases at the hotel before heading to the beach. Early arrival may also make parking and entry easier.
