Oahu events in November 2026 fall into three useful travel windows. November 1–8 puts film and food events across Honolulu, Kahala, Kapolei, and Windward Oʻahu. November 14 gives sports fans a University of Hawaiʻi home game before Thanksgiving week. November 26–28 combines Thanksgiving, the Waikīkī Holiday Parade, and two competing Saturday-night anchors: UH football in Mānoa and Kapolei City Lights in West Oʻahu.

Choose the fixed event first, then stay on the side of the island that makes it practical. A statewide festival name or a short line on a map can hide a long cross-island drive. Start with one ticketed anchor and one lodging base. Leave open time for traffic and ocean conditions.

• November 1: final day of HIFF46's main Kahala screening run.
• November 3–5: HIFF46 shifts to Consolidated Theatres Kapolei in West Oʻahu.
• November 5–8: the Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival holds six Oʻahu events from Waikīkī to Windward Oʻahu.
• November 14: Hawaiʻi hosts North Dakota State at 6 p.m. at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
• November 26: Thanksgiving Day.
• November 27: the Waikīkī Holiday Parade follows Kalākaua Avenue.
• November 28: Hawaiʻi hosts Sacramento State at 6 p.m. for Senior Night, while the free Kapolei City Lights block party runs from 5 to 9 p.m. in West Oʻahu.

The opening week works best when events should add to a normal Honolulu trip. The middle of the month is cleaner for football. Thanksgiving weekend works when holiday crowds are part of the plan, not a surprise after the hotel is booked.

The official HIFF46 venue guide separates Oʻahu into two runs. Consolidated Theatres Kahala screens through Sunday, November 1. After a one-day break, the festival moves to Consolidated Theatres Kapolei from Tuesday, November 3, through Thursday, November 5.

Those are not interchangeable hotel zones. For our itinerary planning, Kahala is the simpler screening base from Waikīkī, Diamond Head, or east Honolulu. Kapolei fits better from Ko Olina or elsewhere in West Oʻahu. We would not book a Waikīkī-to-Kapolei round trip for several nights unless a specific film justifies the traffic risk.

The Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival's official schedule gives Oʻahu visitors six distinct choices. The FEAST Summit runs November 5 at Sheraton Waikiki. Friday, November 6, splits between the daytime Culture in AgriCULTURE program at Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi in Windward Oʻahu and the evening 24K Magic event at ʻAlohilani Resort in Waikīkī. The Greatest Hits is at Kapiʻolani Community College on November 7. The Breakfast Club at Hyatt Regency Waikiki and BTS: Beyond the Seoul at Halekulani close the Oʻahu run on November 8.

Friday is the day most likely to fight the map. A morning in Windward Oʻahu and an evening in Waikīkī can work, but only if both tickets matter and the middle of the day stays open. For most visitors, one event plus a nearby half-day is the better call.

If dinner is the anchor, use the event venue to shape that night's plan instead of adding a cross-island attraction. The festival schedule can change, so recheck the organizer before committing to transportation or a nonrefundable meal nearby.

The University of Hawaiʻi's official 2026 football schedule lists two November home games at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Mānoa. Hawaiʻi hosts North Dakota State on Saturday, November 14, at 6 p.m. for Military Night, then Sacramento State on Saturday, November 28, at 6 p.m. for Senior Night and a white-out promotion.

The November 14 game is the easier visitor choice because it sits between the early-month festivals and Thanksgiving week. The November 28 game lands one night after the Waikīkī parade and two days after Thanksgiving. Make reservations and transportation plans early if you want a specific option that weekend.

Buy through the athletics schedule and confirm the time again before travel. We would keep game day on the Honolulu side: use the morning for Waikīkī or a museum, then leave a real arrival margin for campus traffic. Add the stadium to My Trip before choosing dinner. A reservation on the far side of the island is not worth racing back for.

Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 26, according to the 2026 federal holiday calendar. Use our Thanksgiving in Hawaiʻi guide for dinner, closure, and booking decisions. If a particular holiday meal or activity matters to your trip, book it promptly rather than leaving it for arrival.

The Waikīkī Holiday Parade follows on Friday, November 27. The organizer confirms the date and its Fort DeRussy-to-Kapiʻolani Park route along Kalākaua Avenue, but it does not yet publish a 2026 step-off time or final street-closure window. Keep parade night inside Waikīkī, and use our parade visitor guide to choose a viewing zone. Check the organizer again before setting dinner or ride plans.

If you had planned to visit Mauna ʻAla during a Friday Honolulu itinerary, change that plan. The Division of State Parks lists the Royal Mausoleum State Monument as closed for repairs on November 27. The state lists regular public hours as weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and asks visitors to contact the curator before visiting because access can change.

Saturday, November 28, then forces a geographic choice. The UH home game starts at 6 p.m. in Mānoa. The city's official Kapolei City Lights page confirms a free opening-night block party from 5 to 9 p.m. around Kapolei Hale, with a holiday parade also planned. Choose the game if football is the anchor and you are staying in greater Honolulu. Choose Kapolei City Lights if you are based in Ko Olina, Kapolei, or elsewhere in West Oʻahu. Do not try to attend both: their evening times overlap, and the cross-island drive would turn either event into a rushed stop. If the events are not the goal, this is the November weekend we would avoid.

Build a North Shore day only after checking conditions. Large surf can make the shoreline worth watching and unsafe for swimming at the same time. Keep a calm-water or inland Plan B instead of forcing a beach day because the itinerary says November.

1. Choose early November, November 14, or Thanksgiving weekend.
2. Buy the festival or game ticket that justifies the date.

5. Recheck organizer times and traffic notices before travel. Check the Hawaiʻi weather forecast close to departure.

The best November Oʻahu itinerary is not the one with the most events. It keeps each fixed date in the right neighborhood and leaves enough of the island unscheduled to respond to traffic and changing conditions.
